Mission

Founded in 1910, the Baltimore Urban League, a  nonprofit organization was formed in 1924 by a multiracial group of progressive thinkers.  The Mission to promote, encourage, assist and engage in a variety of efforts designed to  improve the social and economic conditions of African Americans and other Minority group members in the Baltimore community. A radical concept then and one we still stand firm upon now 76 years later!

In keeping with its rich and illustrious history the Baltimore Urban League continues  its legacy for hope and empowerment. The BUL continues to evolve in the 21st century by  adopting new leadership and implementing new programs.
